Toni L. Sandys is an award-winning photojournalist and photo editor at The Washington Post, where she has worked since 2004.
A graduate of Western Kentucky University, she has spent more than three decades in visual journalism, covering sports at the high school, college and professional levels, as well as the Olympic Games.
Her greatest joy comes from storytelling within sports, looking beyond the action to capture meaningful moments and exploring the powerful role sports can play in people’s lives. Throughout her career, Toni has remained committed to supporting photographers, strengthening visual storytelling and creating opportunities for the next generation of photojournalists.
